Future development of The Classic British Quality Charter

This winner of a millenium year award from Thoroughbred and Classic Cars magazine is gaining independence

Charter membership is growing with now more than 25 companies representing a broad spread of the best of British restoration and associated businesses.  In order to grow further and to be recognised as the reference body in this field it is now thought timely to move CBQC to being an independent entity in its own right.  A "not for profit" company will be created with the majority of the board being elected from and by CBQC members.

Some appropriate priorities already identified include:

>  Raising public awareness through recognition and endorsement of The Charter by major motor clubs

>  A prominent awareness programme at the NEC International Classic Motor Show, 9th & 10th November 2002

>  Website improvements

>  Creation of a clear Charter document for use in members` premises

>  The search for an improved insurance package for Charter members
