If It's Good Enough For F1, Itís Good Enough For Your Classic

As part of this commitment MWS have acquired a Nitrogen machine for filling your Classic tyres.  Nitrogen is commonly used on F1 cars and throughout the airline industry. It is a little known fact that Nitrogen has been used in every F1 race car tyre since 1992.

A recent survey carried out by the National Police Forces’ Association investigating tyre pressures discovered that 75% of tyres that were checked had the incorrect tyre pressures.  You could assume that this was down to air loss rather than under inflation.

How does this relate to Nitrogen filled tyres?  Nitrogen contains the very minimum of water and oxygen; these two elements are the first to escape from your tyres, therefore Nitrogen will keep your tyres at the correct pressure for longer.

As a knock-on effect, filling your tyres with Nitrogen will increase your tyres’ tread life as it maintains the optimum road/rubber contact at all times.  Following on from this, increased tyre performance will reduce your car’s fuel consumption by up to 5%.

This is not to say that you still cannot have your tyres filled with traditional air, as we have the facilities for both - allowing you to make your own decision.
