The Jaguar E-Type

With Valentine’s Day around the corner there’s only room for one in our hearts this year, the Jaguar E-Type. With its perfected body lines and flowing curves, combined with the XK6 and V12 engines, the E-Type is simply stunning and I'm not the only one who agrees. 32% of Brits voted the Jaguar E-Type as the greatest car of all time, defeating 100 other cars for the top spot, the Jaguar E-Type triumphed over competition from the likes of the Mini, Porsche 911 and the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.

But what is the secret to Jaguar’s success? Yes the car is simply beautiful from every angle with its smooth edges, sleek interior and enchanting wire wheels, but what is it exactly that has contributed to the success and popularity of Jaguar and its E-Type model? A question answered by a renowned ex-racing driver “Jaguar may not be the best car of its class in the world, but it is incontestably the least expensive of the GOOD cars.”

The Jaguar E-Type has the ability to empower its driver and take them on an unforgettable journey. Derived from the Jaguar       D-Type and XK-SS models the E-type is a combination of perfection. With the model being in production for over 13 years, its body was designed with a combination of mathematics and experience resulting in a proven low drag record. This contributed to the     E-type’s high performance and a top speed of 150mph.

An enduring symbol of the 60s, the Jaguar E-Type is as alluring and inviting today as it was back then so its position at the pinnacle of classic car culture is hardly unexpected. 

The Jaguar E-Type’s beautiful appearance is in no way a mask for an unexciting experience; with its fast, stable performance the Jaguar E-Type is simply incredible making it our car of the month and Valentine this year.
