Spokes and Nipples

MWS spokes are manufactured as 12" blanks in carbon steel or highly polished stainless steel; these blanks can be cut, angled and threaded to order. The spokes are thicker, or butted, at the end which goes through the wheel centre, this was a design element introduced many years ago to make the spokes stronger. As you can see from the list below both the main part of the spoke and the butted end are available as different gauges, or thicknesses. MWS roll, not cut, all spoke threads since this gives a much stronger thread as none of the steel is removed during the process but is compressed into shape.

Replacement spokes and nipples for MWS wire wheels are available in carbon steel or chromed stainless steel.
